How We Test Gold
IGoldcash uses two independent purity testing methods on every transaction — not one:
Acid Test
A small scratch is made on a black touchstone and a controlled nitric acid solution is applied. The chemical reaction colour identifies the karat of gold precisely. Performed openly in front of you.
Density Test
We measure the specific gravity of your gold using the Archimedes principle — comparing its weight in air vs. submerged in water. Pure gold has a specific gravity of 19.3 g/cm³. This cross-verifies the acid test result.
Using two independent methods means we catch errors that either test alone might miss. It also means you can verify our result — both tests are visible to you throughout the process.
How We Price Your Gold
Your gold price is calculated from live MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange of India) market rates at the exact time of your transaction. MCX is India's national commodity exchange — the same benchmark used by banks and bullion dealers nationwide.
